SUMMARY:Brahms, Schubert & Mozart
DESCRIPTION:Mozart – The Magic Flute Overture\nBrahmns – Double Concerto (for Violin & Cello) performed by Tom Budden & Chris Hurn\nSchubert – “Unfinished” Symphony No. 8\nExperience an evening of drama, lyricism, and mystery as we perform three unforgettable works from the great masters of classical music.\nMozart – The Magic Flute Overture\nMozart’s final opera, The Magic Flute, opens with this brilliant overture, which balances grandeur with playful energy. Its noble chords and lively fugue capture the opera’s themes of wisdom, love, and the triumph of light over darkness. The overture is a perfect concert opener, brimming with Mozart’s trademark sparkle and wit.\nBrahms – Double Concerto for Violin & Cello\nWritten in 1887, the Double Concerto was Brahms’ final orchestral work, composed as a gesture of reconciliation with his longtime friend, the violinist Joseph Joachim. Richly romantic and deeply expressive, it creates a powerful dialogue between the solo violin and cello, weaving moments of tenderness, intensity, and fiery virtuosity. In this performance, we are delighted to showcase the artistry of Tom Budden (violin) and Chris Hurn (cello).\nSchubert – Symphony No. 8, the “Unfinished”\nAlthough Schubert completed only two movements of this symphony in 1822, the “Unfinished” has become one of the most loved and enduring works in the repertoire. Its haunting opening theme, lyrical beauty, and sense of mystery have fascinated audiences for generations. Far from incomplete, the two movements stand as a profound and emotionally charged masterpiece in their own right.\nOur tickets can be printed at home or just turn up with the email ticket with the QR code. \nONLINE TICKET SALES HAVE NOW CLOSED BUT PLEASE COME ALONG – TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE ON THE DOOR\nIF YOU HAVE ANY ISSUES WITH TICKETS PLEASE EMAIL TICKETS@FROMESYMPHONY.ORG.UK ( mailto:TICKETS@FROMESYMPHONY.ORG.UK )\n
